Last night I met up with Michael Rowan, Javad Malik and Phil Folly from the Friends of Lowndes Park to discuss how things are progressing for the group.
The Friends are in the process of putting together a lottery bid to secure money to help with the development of the park, including new play equipment and hopefully a park ranger.
So far the group has about 80 members, but it hopes that more than 100 will join. At only £5 per household I think everyone who uses the park should sign up so that we can ensure it has a prosperous future.
Whenever I speak to people about what they like about Chesham the park is always near the top of the list.
I was really impressed at the dedication of the group and the ideas they have for it's use in the future, including more culturally diverse projects such as Chinese New Year celebrations.
If you would like to become a friend simply send a cheque made payable to Friends of Lowndes Park for £5 to treasurer Phil Folly at 16 Essex Road, Chesham, Bucks HP5 3HZ.
You an be as active a member as you like, but even if you just want to join to show your support and then not take part in events it really will help.
I've signed the Examiner up as a corporate member which is £20 and encourage other businesses to do the same.
